WINGS OF GOLD

The Marine Corps operates one of the largest air forces in the world, yet also its most elite.  If you complete your training here, you will achieve a distinction far greater than that of a pilot.  You will find a sense of purpose that only Marines know, and wear.

As an aviator you'll be among the few people in the world qualified to wear the Marine Corps wings of gold.  You'll push your own limits and those of our aircraft as you carry out the mission of Marine Aviation- that of close air support for ground troops.  With some aircraft capable of doubling the speed of sound, and often no more than 500 feet off the ground, you'll clear the way for Marines advancing toward a target.  Our ground troops are known as the tip of the spear, which makes our pilots and flight officers its gleaming and lethal point.

  • PILOTS- For pilots, training begins in Pensacola, FL.  Over the course of flight school, you'll be assigned to an aircraft based on your performance.  Whether you fly a fixed-wing, rotary wing or tilt-rotor aircraft, you will sit at the controls of the world's most advanced fighting forces.

  • NAVAL FLIGHT OFFICER (NFO)- You will train for eight to ten months at flight school in Pensacola, FL, in order to master naviagtion, radar, onboard computer control and electronic warfare measures.  Once assigned to an aircraft, you'll master the onboard systems to ensure mission success.

Guarantee- Marine Corps Pilots fly everything from jets to helicopters and, as a qualified applicant, you'll be guaranteed aviation once you are selected for the program.  More importantly, you'll be tested both mentally and physically until you find within yourself the ability to lead, inspire and accomplish any goal you set your mind to- in the air and in life.
